Castello di Luzzano
Bright straw yellow; a very intense, aromatic, floral nose giving acacia, cypress and mint; balanced and soft on the characteristically fragrant palate, with excellent length. Excellent as an aperitif; well suited to risottos, dishes made using fresh pasta, egg and vegetable dishes, salami and white meats. Exceptional with fat-fleshed fish and seafood (such as crustaceans).
Wine Advocate
The 2008 Tasto di Seta is made from the unusual Moscato di Candia Aromatica, yet another of Italy’s obscure grapes. The wine is simply beautiful as it opens up in the glass, showing off tons of flowers, sweet spices and passion fruit in a style that recalls Gewurztraminer. An underlying vein of minerality frames the wine with notable elegance. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2011.
Score: 90. —Antonio Galloni, August 2009.All sizes are 750mL unless otherwise noted.
