Allegrini
A robust, intense and elegant wine, it is deep ruby red in colour, with a broad and enveloping nose reminiscent of forest fruits entwined with hints of juniper, tobacco and coffee. The high plant density and consequently low yields in the vineyard contribute to this wine's characteristic concentration. La Grola is well suited to accompany roasted red meats prepared with rich sauces, in particular lamb and kid. It is also delicious with pan-fried or grilled mushrooms and with mild cheeses. Ageing potential: 10-12 years.

A subtle red, tightly knit right now, with fine-grained tannins and crushed black currant, cassis, smoky stone and spice box flavors. The fresh finish is lightly chewy. Corvina Veronese, Rondinella, Syrah and Sangiovese. Best from 2013 through 2020. 17,600 cases made.

Wine Advocate
Allegrini's 2007 La Grola, 80% Corvina and 20% Syrah, is a touch slender in this vintage. Ripe, silky tannins support dark red cherries, cloves, leather and licorice. This remains elegant and suave all the way through to the polished finish. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2017.

Sustainably Grown
Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

Accepting no advertising, the newsletter publishes in excess of 7,500 reviews per year, utilizing Parker's rating system that employs a 50-100 point quality scale.

Wine Spectator is a lifestyle magazine that focuses on wine and wine culture. It publishes 15 issues per year with content that includes news, articles, profiles, and general entertainment pieces.
